Simplified from Joshua Weissman's steak sandwich — butter-basted NY strip (or ribeye), a horseradish mayo, and a quick onion jam, piled with arugula on toasted sourdough. The jam and mayo come together while the steak rests.

Soba with Tempura & Sesame Spinach

serves 2, ~30 min, low effort. New candidate. **Why picked:** built on the new soba + soba sauce + dashi makings, now a full meal — crisp shrimp (or veg) tempura and a quick sesame-spinach side. Goes cold (dipping) or hot (in dashi broth), your call day-of. Tempura can be a simple shrimp sear if you don't feel like frying.
